Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was arraigned in Moakley Federal Courthouse yesterday making his first public appearance since being extracted from a dry-docked Watertown boat. Though a bevy of media outlets were covering his day in court live from outside, those who managed their way into the courthouse were situated in an overflow room where they watched the proceedings via broadcast. One Russian news personnel was able to get video footage of Tsarnaev, wearing an orange jumpsuit and cast on his left arm, despite the fact that video and photography were prohibited.

The primary suspect in the Marathon bombings plead not guilty to 30 counts including use of weapons of mass destruction, in two blasts that detonated near the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon. Tsarnaev also stands accused of murdering MIT police officer Sean Collier in execution-style, subsequently car-jacking a nearby vehicle with his brother and engaging authorities in shootout on the streets of Watertown.

Tsarnaev’s older brother Tamerlan is alleged to have participated in all of the same events, though he was killed in the firefight after being riddled with bullets and run over by the getaway car driven by Dzhokhar. An MBTA police officer was injured in the shootout.

The above video is sure to stir the emotions of those deeply affected by the tragic incident, as four people were killed another 264 injured, 34 of whom were subjected to amputation due to the severity of their wounds. Numerous protestors gathered outside the building in support of “Jahar” insisting that he is either innocent and/or has been denied his Constitutional rights as an American Citizen. This sparked outrage among some, including this man who verbally took on the demonstrators in a heated fashion.

Tsarnaev is due in court again on September 23 at 10 a.m ET.
