For weeks, the anxiously awaiting public has thought that Kate Middleton’s due date was July 13, but “well-placed sources” have reportedly told The Telegraph that her real due date is actually today, July 19.

That’s right, Royal Baby watchers, we’ve all been duped. To be fair, the official announcement from Kensington Palace was only that Kate’s due date was in mid-July.

Various media outlets both in the UK and the US have publicized the July 13 due date, prompting concerns that the Royal Baby was overdue. Reporters have been camped out to capture the first photos of the royal baby since July 3.

News of the new due date came out when a source with ties to hospital staff at St. Mary’s said:

“A small number of staff at St Mary’s who might be called upon when the Duchess gives birth were told they had to remain teetotal for a month before the Duchess’s due date. They were told the due date was July 19, meaning they couldn’t drink from June 19 onwards.”

No chances are taken when a royal baby is involved: The members of this small “in case of emergency” group haven’t had a sip of alcohol since June 19 so that nothing will interfere with their ability to work in the delivery room.

If the public had been paying closer attention, all signs of the royal family’s actions lately have pointed to the likelihood of a later due date. For example, the Duchess spent this past week with her parents, whose home is more than 50 miles away from the London hospital where she is expected to give birth, and Prince William reportedly played polo last weekend.

Both of the parents-to-be certainly didn’t seem concerned about the Royal Baby coming last weekend, which bolsters this new claim of a July 19 due date.

So, the wait continues and Royal Baby Watchers across the world are passing the time by composing some stellar tweets about the #GreatKateWait:
