UPADTE: All residents at 25 Calvin St. thought to have escape. 1 firefighter reported injured. The cause remains under investigation.

Firefighters responded to and battled a 7-alarm fire at a triple-decker house at 25 Calvin Street in Somerville this morning. As of 8:15am ET this morning, reports said the firefighters were trying to prevent the blaze from spreading to other homes along the street, a dangerous hazard given the narrowness of the road, though they were able to contain it only after it damaged two neighboring buildings.

Here’s a newscast of the Somerville fire on the scene:

According to NECN, the call came in around 6am ET this morning. Authorities have yet to officially confirm what the cause was but it appears to have been started on the back porch of one building before spreading to the neighboring homes.

All residents were evacuated safely.  One firefighter is reported injured.

The inferno was so large, says Boston.com, that “The smell of smoke reached waking residents in Cambridge, Brookline, and Boston.”

This is a developing story. Stay tuned to BostInno as we’ll be sure to keep you updated as more details are made publicly available.
