This video looks like a scene straight out of a Michael Bay movie. The truck, a Boston Globe delivery vehicle, was struck from behind at approximately 3:13am ET Tuesday morning by a reportedly drunk driver near the Hub’s Leverett Circle. The driver of the airborne delivery truck is alive and well, having been taken to nearby Massachusetts General Hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening.

The truck fell about 40 feet, the state Department of Transportation said.

Watch a Boston Globe delivery truck fly over a guardrail:

The drunk driver behind the wheel of the 2006 Cadillac sedan has been identified as Vivencia Bellegarde, 25, of Everett, MA, and has since been arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and marked lane violations.

According to The Globe, “Bellegarde has amassed a five-page driving record since she first received her license in August 2006, including a prior conviction of operating under the influence of alcohol stemming from her arrest in Lincoln in September 2011.”

Exit 26, where the truck landed in the most ungraceful fashion, was reopened this morning at around 7am and traffic has since resumed per usual.
