LG is kicking off its G2 event at 11 am ET in New York City tomorrow, so naturally we’ve compiled everything you need to know about the phone including launch, photos, prices, and specs. Most notably, LG is looking to take the high-end smartphone market by storm with its near-universally unrivaled 3GB of memory. But don’t take my word for it, just have a look at all of the detailed information LG has leaked (knowingly or otherwise).

Launch

LG has been tight-lipped about an actual date for which the G2 will be made consumer available, but it’s not too hard to determine given what we know. LG’s event is in early August and the South Korean electronics conglomerate has already lined up AT&T, Spring, and Verizon to carry its next-generation flagship handset. Give how quickly Motorola launched its Moto X smartphone with carriers in tow, I’d expect the G2 to hit the retail shelves by the end of the month at the absolute latest.

Display

LG makes its bones cooking up awesome, crystal clear LCD screens for not only its smartphones, but for everything from TV’s to monitors to tablets and more. I’d look for this device to sport a very much non-pixelated display which coupled with its purported burly memory capabilities, will set the G2 apart from not only those competing in the smartphone market right now, but from LG devices past which have fallen swiftly by the wayside.

No ‘Optimus’ Branding

True, LG has opted to drop the ‘Optimus’ branding from its devices, a la LG Optimus G2. This is a smart move by LG as too many words and even letters can clutter a brands moniker while decreasing how easy it is to pronounce in a simple conversation. What would you rather have to tell everyone your phone is, a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 or an LG G2. The way Apple will add a simple ‘S’ branding to its next-gen smartphones, LG has dropped the useless ‘Optimus’ and can now focus its attention on building its brand the way Samsung has diluted theirs. On tap for LG is a G Pad, G Watch, G Glass, G Link, G Band, and G Hub. Stay tuned for those later on.

Specs

Fingerprint recognition technology, a cryptic aspect many speculated on after seeing a sole finger push a nothingness screen on the event invitation, would certainly be an exciting feature for the G2 but it’s lack thereof is not worth crying about. After all the G2 will still carry a nano-SIM slot as well as microSD storage expansion, not to mention a removable 2,610mAh battery.”

As for the specs we can look forward to, LG users and G2 hopefuls should keep an eye out for a burly 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, a crystal clear 5.2-inch LCD display, an unparalleled 3GB of memory, a sharp 13MP camera, and a probable Android 4.2.2 mobile OS. Google did recently unveil its updated Android 4.3 so the G2 may come with an available upgrade.
