The Xbox One release date may be for November, but that hasn’t stopped Xbox execs from releasing an unboxing video further detailing the next-gen console’s specs. With Microsoft Director of Programming Major Nelson narrating, the video creates a more intimate feel for the all-in-one entertainment hub to be enjoyed by gamers everywhere.

As of now, the Xbox One has a release date scheduled for some time in November though they have yet to announce a specific date. The price for the console will go for a heft $499 sum which includes a developers kit for creating and publishing one’s own games.

The video distinctly highlights the aesthetic features and multi functional operations that are supposed to make the Xbox One better than all other consoles, especially rival Sony’s PlayStation 4. After rummaging through paperwork that includes an owner’s manual and sticker, Nelson first makes for the console.

He describes it as liquid black carrying a slot leading Blue Ray drive, super speed USB 3.0 port, HDMI input and output, optical audio out, Kinect IR blaster with the option for an outport, ethernet port, as well as a 500GB hard drive and 8-core X86 processor.

He then details the new controller, noting it has over 40 new improvements including a newly designed chrome D-pad along with impulse triggers along the back.

Finally he delves slightly into the Kinect sensor which offers improved gesture and voice control. greater field of use meaning it works in nearly every room of your living space, 1080p video resolution for Skype capabilities, and a new on/off switch that Nelson cryptically mentioned before trailing off with “See you at Gamescom.”

Gamescom of course is the tech expo held in Berlin, Germany, set to kick off on August 20 during which at some point Microsoft is expected to hold at least one more press conference and possibly demo of all of the last minute details for the Xbox One.
