As duly noted by TechCrunch, “The press conference comes after the president’s two recent stakeholder meetings about the National Security Agency’s controversial domestic surveillance program.” Most recently, the President held a meeting where in attendance was the likes of Tim Cook and other tech executives from tech and telecom companies like Google and AT&T to discuss government surveillance.

Sure to be on the agenda are talks of NSA leaker and controversial individual Edward Snowden, U.S. embassy closings in the Middle East due to heightened concerns about attacks from al Qaeda, and as noted by the WSJ, “And there is always a chance for a surprise question. Mr. Obama has yet to comment on the troubles affecting Democrats on both sides of the coast, including revelations about additional sexually explicit online messages from New York mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner and allegations of sexual harassment by San Diego Mayor Bob Filner.

The trip to Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard is completely unrelated to the press conference, but seeing has how the Commander In Chief will be in our neck of the woods, it’s kind of a big deal. On Saturday the President and First Lady will be touring the Cape Cod Coast Guard Air Station in Bourne, MA, closer to the South Coast of Massachusetts than the iconic bicep-flexing form that is Cape Cod.

Be sure to tune in to the 3pm ET press conference live streamed above.
