As the new fifth-generation iPad and iPad mini’s release date on September 10 bears down on us, a new duo of leaked photos has emerged. The snapshots are of the silver rear casing of both devices and fall directly in line with previous leaked images which adds to the validity of these but really teaches us nothing new. Still, seeing photos leaked of both iPad versions are auspicious and quell any rumors of delayed releases or poor yields.

The latest pics come courtesy of foreign tech blog nowhereelse.fr, though their source of origin is unnamed. Unfortunately the shots don’t come accompanied by any sort of detail about specs or the rumored September 10 release date. Still, the site alludes to the larger 9.7-inch iPad’s design as being based on that of the iPad mini’s, though many are expecting the next-gen 7.9-inch iPad mini to boast a retina display.

As far as the photos are concerned, the only intriguing aspect is that the cases of both devices lack any FCC or miscellaneous regulation certifications printed along the back beneath the Apple logo and iPad branding. Spotting these are usually a critical sign that a release or launch is imminent.

Really the only question mark that remains surrounding either device is the launch. It is possible that the iPad and iPad mini will debut at Apple’s alleged September 10 press event, though rumors point to the unofficially named iPad 5 to see a release this fall alongside the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, and iOS 7 while the iPad with the Retina display could hit the retail shelves in 2014 at the earliest.

Apple has supposedly hit a few snags in incorporating the Retina display in the smaller iPad mini screen, though a recent report from the Wall Street Journal noted that Apple will team up with Samsung in order for the iPad mini with Retina display to come into fruition. Apple has been criticized lately for its lack of innovative spark and failing to manufacture a completely original device since the untimely passing of the late Steve Jobs.

Stay tuned to BostInno for the latest iPad and iPad mini developments as more images and specs are sure to leak in the weeks leading up to the the fall release.
