Ahead of the suspected iPhone 5S release date, more leaked photos have emerged of the new gold iPhone 5S. While even the smallest tidbit alluding to the next-gen flagship’s imminent release would be enough to appease the Apple faithful’s smartphone appetite if only for a short while, more evidence of a gold iPhone 5S has glitz and glamor lovers salivating.

The latest snapshots come courtesy of foreign tipster site nowhereelse.fr (Google translated here) via Japanese retailer Moumantai, and feature alongside the gold 5S both a black and silver current-generation iPhone 5. The images aren’t accompanied with any more insight into the specs or release date of the 5S, though if I were you I wouldn’t expect a whole lot more until Apple formally announces the September 10 press event.

What we know about the upcoming and latest iPhone variant is rather vague, but admittedly prompts me to wonder what exactly Apple has in store for its users. Along with the first leaked photos of a gold iPhone 5S we learned that device would offer up to 128GB of internal storage, an unprecedented move for any smartphone which rarely ever go above 32GB.

It is also expected to feature a fingerprint sensor embedded within the home button — which may or may not be of convex form — likely for authentication and security measures, but could Apple have an ace up its sleeve by, for example, somehow cross-syncing the new technology to make a one-time fingerprint authentication applicable to all passwords on one’s Apple account? Just my two cents.

Also thought to be employed by the device is a 4-bit A7 processing chip. This is certainly a step up from the A6 which produces less wireless bandwidth. The iPhone 5S will also carry a 4-inch IGZO display, a 12MP rear-facing camera, and a dual-LED flash with ƒ/2.0 lens. Keep an eye out for 16Gb and 32GB variants and, of course, iOS 7 and all of the features it has to offer.

The low-cost iPhone 5C will be similar in size and specs — with a 4-inch display, upgraded camera, and possible inclusion of the aforementioned fingerprint sensor — but is though to have a scaled-back iOS 7 to account for its budget-friendliness. It will also sport a plastic shell in a neon spectrum of colors instead of Apple’s signature anodized aluminum casing.
