A plane crash Sunday morning at the Taunton Municipal airport killed two men, boston.com reports.

The Bristol district attorney’s office has identified John Schmouth, the 69 year-old pilot, of Brockton and Ronald Deslauriers, 61, or Bridgewater, as the victims of crash.

According to initial report, identification of the bodies would not be available until autopsies had been conducted. Authorities believed that dental records would be needed.

Taunton police Lieutenant Robert Casey told Boston Globe reporters that the crash was first reported shortly after 6:30 a.m.

The plane went down near Westcoat Drive, the roadway leading towards the airpot, shortly after the plane took off. No one on the ground was injured during the crash.

According to reports from Keith Halloway, a spokesmen from the National Transportation Safety Board, the plane was an Aeronca 7AC built in 1946, only recently purchased by the owner.

Initially, the plane was unidentifiable to authorities do to fire damage, which had destroyed the plane’s identification number.

The cause of the crash in currently unknown.

Agencies, including the FAA, fire department, local and state police, the state medical examiner, and MassDot aeronautics, will work with the National Transportation Safety Board through the course of the investigation.
