This morning when you wake up well-rested yet hungry as a Pac-Man, cooking a breakfast meal for one might seem downright depressing. My suggestion? Tease your hair, throw on some acid-washed jeans and head to Blue Inc. for their “Totally 80’s Brunch.” The restaurant, notorious for its hilarious themed brunches, is going back in time for one day only – today. Chef Jason Santos’ special “rad” 80’s themed brunch menu will include “Hungry Eyes” starters and “The Breakfast Club” entrees.

You may be thinking – that’s all well and hokey but I’d rather not. Who really has the energy to scrounge their closets looking for shoulder pads and scrunchies? Well, I hear ya. But this brunch is not only fun, it’s cheap. The 80’s themed brunch entrees are all under $15 — talk about a flashback to “Reagan-era” pricing. You can also listen to your favorite 80’s music – turn around bright eyes – while getting your fill of Molly Ringwald awkwardness on the TV sets.

It’s Tipsy Time — Here are the Brunch Buzz Deets

When

Sunday, September 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call for wait time and/or reservations at 617.261.5353.

Where and Wear

Located at: 131 Broad Street, in the Financial District of Boston.

Whether you decide to look “pretty in pink” or finally don that windbreaker you’ve been hiding, you should definitely look totally 80’s. Even the Blue Inc. staff will be looking snazzy in their over-the-top 80’s attire. So come decked out in your best diamond-studded jacket, stirrup pants and oversized tops.

What to Eat

Chef Jason Santos is serving up some of my favorite breakfast foods including the sweet and savory combo, Fried Chicken and Waffles. Or, if you’re looking to skip savory and head straight to sweet, try the Peaches and Cream Pancakes and Cinnamon Bun French Toast.

And, most importantly…

The Brunch Buzz Drink

Blue Inc. will be featuring a blast from the past, “Cocktails and Dreams” drink list. The list includes “Maverick & Ice Man,” “The Dirty Diana,” and many other 80’s themed brunchtastic cocktails. For me, the “Moscow Bueller” is calling my name … well, Ferris’ anyway.

So enjoy your 80’s Sunday. After all, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” Just don’t miss this brunch.
