Attention craft beer lovahs, something’s buzzing over at the Seaport Boston Hotel. The hotel has partnered with Long Trail Brewing Company to create a hoppy honey drink called the “Seaport Honey Ginger IPA”– Yum. This buzzworthy drink will be sold exclusively on tap at the Seaport Boston Hotel’s TAMO bar & lounge.

The honey in the craft beer is made by the hotel’s very own bees, which is famous for its 1 million bees and 11 rooftop hives (no lie). The waterfront hotel began harvesting as part of an environmental initiative back in 2011. The busy bees have been providing the Seaport Boston Hotel with honey ever since. And according to Boston.com, “the sticky syrup winds up in dressings and sauces in the restaurant downstairs. At breakfast, diners can even scoop some up as it drips from the comb and slather it right onto their toast.”

But now, it seems that the Seaport’s TAMO Bar & Lounge is taking the honey thrill one step further.

The buzz began when over 300 pounds of the hotel’s recently harvested honey was sent to the Vermont-based brewery and developed using Long Trail’s “pilot brew system.”

The Seaport Honey Ginger IPA debuted today when Jim Carmody, VP and General Manager of the Seaport Boston Hotel as well as Dan Fulham, President of Long Trail Brewing Company, officially tapped the keg and introduced Bostonians to the hotel’s newest craft beer.
