It’s out with the old and in with the new for Boston’s classic Back Bay restaurant Towne stove and spirits. The celebrated establishment recently welcomed the arrival of Executive Chef and Culinary Director Mark Allen, former owner of Le Soir Bistro in Newton Highlands.

And along with a new chef comes a new seasonal food selection. Chef Allen recently rolled out his new lunch, dinner, and bar menus. On September 29, the chef will also be debuting a new weekend brunch buffet menu. And considering that Towne is one of Esquire’s “Best New Restaurants,” we thought this information (particularly about brunch) may be useful.

The new and improved Towne stove and spirits will be featuring dinner meals like Whole-Roasted Baby Monkfish with Bacon and Beer Can Herb-Roasted Chicken with Prosciutto. Can’t complain about that. As well as a raw bar and wood-fired grilled meats and pizzas.

For lunch you can now treat yourself to Towne’s new house-made candy bar made with milk chocolate, caramel and praline. It’s dessert come early… and that’s fine by me.

And as for Towne’s bar and late night menu (one that you will certainly be eyeing), Chef Allen features grilled flatbreads burgers until 11pm on weeknights, and until midnight on the weekends. Right as you’re heading home from your night out at Back Bay Social.
