The weekend is finally upon us which means that everything good is about to happen after midnight. Forget your depressing weekday self-imposed 10:30 pm curfew. It’s the weekend which means you can let loose and stay out past 1am without feeling a tinge of guilt.

There’s a good chance your weekend plans will include hopping between some of the many bars and restaurants in Boston’s South End. And, after consuming quite a few specialty cocktails at the Beehive, your buzz may start to wind down – taken over by very distinct nocturnal hunger pains. It is officially late-night food o’clock.

And you’re craving burgers. Because, honestly, there’s no better food to soak up that alcohol and placate your growling stomach. Not to mention this burger comes with apple wood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese and a side of fries — obvi.

Stella, a chic restaurant bar in the South End, has got you covered. Not only will the music, energetic ambience and lively atmosphere keep you awake long enough to order a meal, but the ridiculously big burger will make it worthwhile. And if you can’t finish, it makes for great leftovers tomorrow.

Stella’s late night menu is available from 11pm to 1:30am and serves up a delicious assortment of other night grub including grilled pizzas, like their four mushroom “Quattro Funghi, Pepperoni and “Red Bartlett Pear” pizzas. And if Italian pasta is more your thing, the menu also includes the restaurant’s famous Tagliatelle bolognese, Orecchiette and homemade meatball sliders. Sounds good to me.

Or if you’re passing on savory, and craving something sweet instead, try one of Stella’s late night $6 desserts. Anything from tiramisu, cannolis galore or even gelato.

Like I said, everything good happens after midnight – especially this menu.
