Treat Yo’ Self is an ongoing BostInno series that highlights an ongoing deal in the city where you can indulge without suffering financial ruin. Check back each Tuesday for a new way to pretend you’re rich – we’ll even provide the most appropriate scenario to accompany the bargains.

Who: Your current significant other, who has been having trouble finding a new job after a temp position with the Blue Man Group recently ended.

What: Cheap Date Night—a $45 prix-fixe menu for two. Choose one of five different style ‘dates’ depending on you and your date’s style: there’s the Healthy, the Spicy, the Vegetarian, the Pig Out, and the Seaside Date. Might I suggest the Pig Out Date, which includes pork dumplings, szechuan noodles, and bacon?

When: Mondays and Tuesdays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: Myers + Chang, located at 1145 Washington Street in the South End. Reservations are recommended, call 617-542-5200.

Why: A dry patch in the job hunt doesn’t necessarily mean there has to be a dry patch in your romantic life. The Cheap Date Night menu offers up a multi-course menu that will make you two feel like you’re enjoying a lavish night out, when you’re really within budget. There’s the added option of a $25 bottle of wine, or a $5 dessert, depending on how big you want to go. If you don’t want to go big, just go home and split a cheap bottle of Sutter Home over a bag of Milanos. Voila! Cheap date night.

How: Save cab fare and walk or bike to the South End location while the weather is still nice—the crisp fall air will make you grateful you didn’t suffer through public transportation, and on the way home, you’ll be able to work off that Pig Out dinner.
