President Obama will be addressing his flagship Affordable Care Act today from Maryland’s Prince George’s Community College and you can live stream it below at 10:55 a.m. ET. The stop in Largo, MD is just one stop on a recent campaign to promote the benefits of what’s been dubbed Obamacare as the milestone piece of legislation sits poised to be enacted into law next week.

According to NBC News, “The White House says Obama will explain Thursday how Americans can comparison shop for insurance that meets their needs,” similar to how me mentioned yesterday on stage accompanied by former President Bill Clinton that people will be able to shop for insurance the way they would a flat screen TV or airline ticket.

The Affordable Care Act has been a hot button topic since its inception but has become seemingly more controversial as of late due to its being at the center of the federal budget. The Republican-controlled House of Representatives has called for the defunding of Obamacare in order for the government to be able to continue paying its bills though Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid possesses the votes needed for any language alluding to defunding be stripped from the legislation.

The Senate will vote on a budget this weekend giving the House only a day or more to comply or incite a government shutdown.

According to a CBS/New York Times poll, roughly “51 percent of Americans disapprove of the law, while just 39 percent say they approve of it,” it being the Affordable Care Act.
