It probably doesn’t take much for me to convince you to pack up your bags and head to Mohegan Sun next weekend. After all, where else can you find entertainment, dining, shopping and casino action so close to Boston? Well now you have one more glorious reason to hit the casino-laden region — Sun Brewfest.

Just as your Oktoberfest celebrations come to a close, next weekend’s second annual Sun BrewFest boozy celebration begins. The event kicks off with two separate evening tasting sessions – one on Friday, October 4th from 7:00pm to 11:00pm and the second on Saturday, October 5th from 7:00pm to 11:00pm.

Both of these tasting sessions will feature more than 100 varieties of Craft and Microbrews to Imports & Domestics and limited editions. Beers on tap will include Goose Island, Newcastle, Dogfish Head, Long Trail, Tenth & Blake’s Batch 19 and more. The evening tasting sessions will also include live entertainment, food (of course) and home brew demonstrations.

And if you wake up hurting, Sunday morning’s ‘hair of the dog’ will be the BrewFest Brunch. The third and final BrewFest tasting will take place on Sunday, October 6th from 11:00am to 2:00pm. Here’s what you can expect: an all-inclusive food and beverage brunch with an open bar of Goose Island and Shock Top varieties as well as sparkling wines and Bloody Marys. In addition to Brunch food, you can also try (for the very first time) seasonal Shock Top ice creams created by the Mohegan Sun Pastry department and made with Shock Top’s Honey Apple and Pumpkin Wheat beer varieties. Ice cream and beer for breakfast – yes, please.

Last I heard, the tastings are not sold out yet – but filling up very quickly. So buy your tickets now before you miss out. $25.00 for evening tastings, $75.00 for the BrewBrunch – money that you’ll obviously win back with one spin of the roulette wheel. Check out more details here.
