As the weather cools down, the drinks heat up. At least that’s how the fall season usually goes for me. When it’s cold outside, there’s nothing that I enjoy more than sipping on warm apple cider (spiked of course).

And with October being prime apple-picking season, I figured it was only appropriate to feature this fall fruit in our cocktail of the week. If you’re a fan of apple cider, rum, cinnamon and all of the above then this week’s fall drink will warm you to the core. Whether you’re looking to shake up your Thursday night or just shake it up at home, here’s where to find the best spiked apple cider drink in town — and how to make it.

Buy It:

Head to Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro located in (surprise surprise) Beacon Hill. The sophisticated and elegant hotel is located right on Charles Street and the hotel’s cozy bar, tucked away from the dining area, makes your trip downtown worth the effort. Not only is the service friendly and warm but so is the atmosphere. The hotel’s fireplace is located right next to the bar so immediately, I felt right at home. And of course since you are sitting by a fireplace, the only acceptable fall drink to order is the bar’s Fireside Cider.

The warm apple cider infused with Apple Cinnamon Rum will warm you up from the inside out. Served in a cider glass with a cinnamon and sugar rim, this sweet cider is the perfect fall drink.

Make It:

And if you don’t feel like trekking down to Charles Street, you can make the fall concoction right at home. Try these ingredients and directions, per the Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro’s bartender, and sip the cider by your own fireside at home.
