Over the past few weeks, we’ve interviewed Boston residents about their dating habits and what we’ve found is a whole lot of alive and single Boston residents jumping on-board the online dating and mobile dating bandwagon. Most of them have only one goal in mind: to find some lovin’.

Well folks, dating just got a lot more weird.

How so, you ask? It now seems that ghosts are also dipping their disappearing toes into the dating pool with a similar ghoul in mind: finding an afterlife mate.

I know what you’re thinking: This is totally ridiculous. And I (for what it’s worth) absolutely agree. Normally upon discovering the site, I would chuckle, roll my eyes and move on. But in the spirit of halloween, we’re taking it here. GhostSingles.com is a new dating site for those left single in the afterlife, “nether-world, or ethereal existence.”

Because if you think about it, what’s worse than being dead and single?

The site advertises that “if you’re looking for love and you’re dead, Ghost Singles is the site for you.” There’s also a singles’ chat available 24/7 – I’d hate to hear the sounds from that room.

So what does a single ghost profile look like? Each ghost single can create a profile that includes the year you died, your former marital status and your build with options like “wispy, airy, smoky or even cloudy.”

You can find your perfect dead match by narrowing down the options. Depending on your preference, choose an ideal ghost partner anywhere between the ages of 18 and 1000+ and who died either horribly, mysteriously, tragically, or suddenly. I guess those who died peacefully are just too boring for the dating site?

But if you’re alive and kicking, you’ll have to stick with OkCupid for now. The Ghost Singles site claims they don’t accept “the undead or living dead: no zombies or vampires!” Sorry to all of those living ghost-philiacs out there.

Personally, I find this amusing (albeit, taking the whole Casper thing a little too far). But it’s certainly another wacky season-appropriate dating site to add to all of our ever-growing online options.
