The Seaport might have another ceremony in the coming weeks. This time, it’s a hotel. The Boston Business Journal reports that Norwich Partners of New Hampshire could break ground at an existing parking lot in the Seaport District on a $42 million, 100,000- square-foot boutique hotel.

The Envoy Hotel will be built at 66 Sleeper St. It is expected to include 136 luxury guest rooms, and a restaurant and bar. A public roof deck will offer city views to residents or guests while they sip on their drinks, purchased from the deck’s bar.

Norwich Partners’ FPC Hotel LLC bought the nearly 17,000 square-foot lot for $8.99 million in 2011.

Boston-based engineering firm R.G. Vanderwell Engineers LLP will suit up with Group One Partners and ADD Inc. to design the project, that could be completed by spring 2015.

The Envoy groundbreaking is planned for Oct. 25.

Two more hotels could be destined for the South Boston area, across from the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, thanks to a partnership between Commonwealth Ventures, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide. Plans are in place to put up a 330-room Aloft hotel and 180-room Element hotel.
