So, you’ve had a bad day. We’ve all been there. Maybe this morning you spilled your precious hot coffee, had a fender bender or dealt with one heck of a rickety T ride. Well, forget happy hour – because the second you walk through your front door, there’s only one thing on that to-do list: mindless TV watching. Fortunately, there’s one protagonist returning to the screen who will make you feel better about your own problems. And that’s Hannah from Girls.

That’s right. Today, Girls creator and star Lena Dunham announced via Instagram the return date for her wildly-popular HBO show. Her Instagram selfie included the words “1/12/14 10 p.m. EST” written on a mirror (above). Girls Season 3 will premiere with back-to-back episodes at 10 and 10:30.

With the news officially out, the third season of the highly successful HBO drama has already received a lot of buzz. At this year’s Emmy ceremony, the  HBO series received five nominations. Rolling Stones reports that the show also has quite a few shake-ups in store for this season. Christopher Abbott, who played Charlie, will not be returning (boo) but Michael Zegen (Boardwalk Empire) will join the cast along with Orange is the New Black actress, Danielle Brooks.

And with all of these changes in Girls, there’s still one thing for sure – you’re about to feel way better about your own life in the upcoming 2014 new year. Cheers to that. To get you even more jazzed up, watch Tina Fey’s recent parody of the show (below) and check out other hump day news here.
