What do an HGTV personality, a blue-haired “Hell’s Kitchen” finalist and a Boston resident have in common? They all partnered to create Boston’s newest dining destination: Back Bay Harry’s. Which, in case you missed it, we also listed as one of the most anticipated fall restaurant openings in Boston. But with the swanky restaurant officially opening today to (hungry) Bostonians everywhere, the wait is finally over.

Last night the Back Bay joint threw an opening celebration bash, revealing the chic space (above) and intricate menu. The interior, designed by partner Taniya Nayak, includes “smoky mirrors, custom-designed brass chandeliers, hand-stenciled light wooden floors, channel-tufted teal banquettes, and chevron tiled column,” according to a release.

Nayak stated that she “wanted to create a space that felt equally classic as it is comfortable. The architecture of the building was the driving force behind the new layout with our large bar area and intimate dining room.”

And speaking of bar, the expanded bar area seats 60 people and features an unexpected focal point in the restaurant: a wall showcasing empty wine bottles. The sepia tone marble bar completes the swanky and chic ambience of the posh new restaurant.

As for food, you can expect a wide selection of sandwiches and salads served during lunch. According to the release, Chef and Partner Jason Santos (“Hell’s Kitchen,” Blue Inc., Abby Lane) “created menus featuring bold flavors and unique twists on old favorites such as a Meatloaf Wellington entrée served with butternut squash mash, sage gravy, Parma ham, and green beans, as well as Boneless Buttermilk Fried Chicken served with potato purée, seared greens, BBQ syrup and honey doughnuts.” If that doesn’t sound good to you, then I don’t know what does. The restaurant will also be open for a delicious brunch every Sunday.

The third Back Bay Harry’s partner is none other than Harry Collings himself. The restaurateur stated in the release: “…our goal is to create a welcoming place that people visit often, not a special occasion restaurant—it will have an interesting vibe and be filled with interesting people.” Collings, a former Boston Redevelopment Authority executive, is a well-respected member of the Boston community for his charity and leadership.

The restaurant opens tonight at 5 p.m., so make your reservation now, or simply stop at 142 Berkeley Street to check it out.
