Well folk, it’s over. The 49th Annual Head of the Charles has come and gone but not without quite a few memorable moments. Thousands of spectators ventured out to the Charles River on this beautiful October weekend to watch the various rowing races. In case you missed the spectacular event, we’ve got you covered. After all, with over 55 races careening through the three-mile course over two full days, there’s a lot you probably missed. Here are some of the results and happenings from this year’s Head of the Charles.

According to The Boston Globe, this year’s 49th Head of the Charles Regatta “saw some of the fastest times ever recorded in its almost half-century of existence.” By the fourth race of the event, “the Grand-Master Men’s Singles 50+, Cambridge Boat Club’s Greg Benning’s time of 18 minutes, 15 seconds shattered the course record of 18:54 that had stood for 21 years.” Impressive. The Boston Globe also reported that on the first day alone “seventeen course records were set on the first day of the 2013 Head of the Charles.”

For results on all 55 races, check here. Highlights from the event included Sunday’s two biggest races: the men and women’s Championship fours and eights races. The winner of the Championship Fours Men “Schaefer Cup” went to Camp Randall Rowing Club (USA). While, OTC Amsterdam (NED) won first place at the Championship Eights Men race.

The Women’s Championship Fours race winner went to the USrowing (USA) crew, while first place for the Women’s Championship Eights went to Cambridge Boat Club (USA). Saturday’s highlights include the below:

Kathleen Bertko won the HOCR Women’s Championship 1x (singles) this Saturday (below).

This year’s HOCR Men’s Championship 1x (singles) winner was Kjetil Borch (below).

This year’s Men’s Championship 2x winners were Matthew Miller & Sam Stitt (below).

Saturday’s Women’s Champion 2x winners were Inge Janssen & Magdalena Lobnig (below).
