Who let the dogs out this Halloween? Apparently, everyone in America (I’m looking at you, Boston pet owners). Yes, according to MarketWatch, pet costumes sales have grown dramatically over recent years with a 68 percent increase from 2010 to 2012. Even PetSmart admits to now carrying “111 styles of pet costumes and accessories,” including items for small animals. 

But, admittedly, if I was responsible enough to own a pet, I’d most likely be dressing them in an adorable cute costume as well. And certainly nothing is wrong with including your pet in the Halloween spirit. However, some of these costumes are entirely ridiculous and cross-the-line between cute and downright embarrassing.

All I’m saying is – leave your pet some dignity. In an effort to determine the worst pet Halloween costume of all time, I scoured the Internet for recent pet costume pictures and came up with the 14 that (in my opinion) deserve to be labeled as cruel and unusual punishment. But which is the worst of all time? We’ll find out today in the This vs. That Halloween pet costume battle.
