Chestnut Hill’s Route 9 corridor is developing quickly, which is great news for anyone and everyone who occasionally ventures outside of the Hub. But now the pace is increasing at a faster rate than any foodie could have dreamed. Chestnut Hill will soon be home to six new restaurants this fall (fingers crossed).

Without a doubt, it’s not only good news for restaurant fans in and around the Greater Boston area, but also for the Route 9/Chestnut Hill corridor. Jonathan Martin, Vice President at Colliers International, tell us that the area “has really flourished from a retail perspective since 2008. While higher end traditional retail has always been a good fit for the market, its very encouraging to see the level of restaurant demand from national companies.”

He continues, “With the recent opening of Shake Shack and Pinkberry, we are seeing a more active, vibrant customer profile shopping and dining in Chestnut Hill.”

And now with six more tasty spots under construction, the development in the area looks to be putting Chestnut Hill on more equal footing with other suburban retail markets such as Dedham, Burlington and Natick. And according to Martin, this will help “solidify the area as a dining destination on par with some of downtown Boston’s best.”
