Just when you saw the City of Boston would be closing a bevy of streets and parking areas as if to purposely hinder your Red Sox World Series duck boat parade experience, an unlikely entity has come to the rescue. General Manager Dr. Beverly Scott announced Friday afternoon that the MBTA would be extending its service tomorrow to transport the innumerable fans looking to bask in the championship glory.

According to the notice, all four subway branches – Red, Green, Orange and Blue Lines, not including the Silver Line — will be operating at its rush hour capacity starting at 7 a.m. The commuter rail will also be bolstering its service, but be sure to check the revamped itinerary here as more trains rolling to and from the Hub means a modified schedule is in order.

For prospective subway-goers, “Red Line customers should also note that the previously scheduled diversion on November 2 and 3 between Kendall/MIT and Park Street Stations has been cancelled. Blue Line customers should also note that Bowdoin Station will be open on Saturday during its normal weekday hours of 5:15 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.”

Bus service will run on its usual Saturday timetable, though Routes 39, 57, 111, 504, and 442 will all have increased service. Routes 01, 08, SL/5, 92, 93, 57, and 65 will all be subjected to detours, as they will be forced to avoid close proximity to the parade route.

If you plan on descending upon Boston via boat, it may be your best bet. “Customers can purchase $16 roundtrip fare on special event boats offered on Saturday,” according to the MBTA. “Please be advised that each boat trip has a maximum capacity of 149 passengers” and tickets go on sale this afternoon.
