From family snapshots to paperbacks, Rue La La’s VP of User Experience, Tom W., has more than a few can’t-live-without-them essentials. And we’re getting the inside look.

1. Photos
“Small, framed family snapshots are really comforting, and grouped together they tell happy stories.”

2. Whatnot Dishes
“My spare change and jewelry go on a Wedgwood tray that was my mother’s, and my iPod® is in a crystal Tiffany & Co. dish with other mementos.”

 3. Books
“What I’m reading, what I’m perusing, and what’s next. I’m still a paper-book guy, no electronic readers yet.”

 4. Lighting
“A good lamp is essential. Ours are wall-mounted brushed nickel with silk shades on moveable arms with dimmers. Works for every mood.”

 5. Remote Controls
“I watch TV in bed and love it. Law & Order reruns, 60 Minutes, Annie Hall – I love to relax this way.”

 6. Internal Clock
“The alarm clock is on my husband’s side. As I’ve gotten older, I wake up every morning at dawn, then make the decision to get up or roll over.”
