Tonight at 7 p.m., while much of Boston will be fixated on the results of the first non-Menino mayoral election in 20 years, Rob Gronkowski will be answering questions live on Facebook. Presented by Dunkin’ Donuts (Gronkowski’s longtime partner in several advertising campaigns), the Patriots All-Pro will be on the Ustream (shown below) that will go live when the event begins this evening. Gronk, contrary to his reputation as merely a party animal who also plays football, is actually one of the better athletes in the league at thinking on his feet, so his answers shouldn’t lack for entertainment.

Gronk is now completely restored to the Patriots lineup after missing the first six weeks of the season following offseason surgeries. And following the explosion of offense this past weekend against the Pittsburgh Steelers, in which Gronk had a career best nine catches for 143 yards and one touchdown, the talented tight end should be in good spirits.

He won’t be the only Patriots player flexing his social media muscle today either. Julian Edelman, another focal point of the Patriots offense at various points this season, will host an “AMA” session (ask me anything) on Reddit.

Why the sudden explosion in media appearances? (Two media appearances is seen as an “explosion” by the normally reserved Patriots). This is probably attributed to the upcoming bye week that New England will gladly relax in. With no game this weekend to prepare for, it seems that the Patriots have a little more time to connect with fans.

And lastly, since this isn’t Gronk’s first time working with Dunkin’, why not take a look at some of his outtakes from a recent Dunkin’ commercial:
