In just a couple of weeks a once-in-a-lifetime event is going to happen. Thanksgiving and Hanukkah will occur at the same time. In case you’ve missed the news, the first-ever “Thanksgivukkah” holiday is happening this year and won’t happen for a second time until the year 79811. That’s a really long time to wait for the hybrid holiday to come again, so you might as well celebrate now. But how?

By eating, of course. And luckily for us, there’s plenty of places to get your fill of either Thanksgiving or Jewish cuisine in Boston. But if you’re looking for a combination of the two, I suggest heading to Beat Hôtel’s Thanksgivukkah celebration on November 27. We’ve already given you a number of ways to celebrate the holiday but this event is also worth a mention.

The Harvard Square brasserie and bar will offer Boston residents a cross-cultural menu with dishes that include, Smoked Beef Brisket with Challah Stuffing & Cranberry Pumpkin Tzimmes, and Maple Smoked Salmon with Potato, Carrot & Parsnip Latkes. The delicious hybrid-holiday foods will also be accompanied with live entertainment.

Musician Tammy Scheffer, who was born and raised in both Israel and Belgium, will be providing guests with a musical hybrid of sorts. According to a release, Scheffer’s” music combines influences of contemporary jazz with her own expressive voice and a strong sense of melody.”

Beat Hôtel is recommending that guests make reservations ahead of time. The Thanksgivukkah celebration will start at 8p.m. and last until midnight. And despite yesterday’s report from the Huffington Post about a shortage of the Jewish treat, knishes, “square, fried and doughy pillows of pureed potatoes,” there will be still be plenty of food to go around at this Thanksgivukkah celebration (we hope).

After all, this one-time holiday is truly a festivus for all of us. The convergence of two (rather major) food-centered holidays presents us with a very delicious November. And if you decide to forego a night out, try these Thanksgivukkah-inspired recipes instead.
