The weekend before Thanksgiving you probably want to save a little extra room for all of the turkey and mashed potatoes you’re about to devour. Probably, anyway. As for me – Thanksgiving or no Thanksgiving – nothing can stop my craving for brunch come Sunday morning. There’s also no better way to toast a great (read: short) work week ahead, then over a plate of eggs (bloody mary in hand).

And speaking of bloody marys, last week we filled you in on news of Boston’s newest bloody mary bar at Met Back Bay. But if you live across the river in Cambridge that may sound just a tad too far of a commute for your typical lazy Sunday – and we don’t blame you. So if you’re looking to get the bloody mary bar experience without the pain of riding the T, then we suggest heading to East Coast Grill.

It’s Tipsy Time — Here are the Brunch Buzz Deets

When

Enjoy sleeping in because this brunch doesn’t get started until 11 a.m. and lasts through 2:30 p.m.

Where

The brunch spot is located in Inman Square at 1271 Cambridge Street in Cambridge.

What to Eat

East Coast Grill serves up a wide variety of food. Some with a southern or southwest style flair and others with a caribbean feel. If you’re feeling really hungry, I recommend the Yucanese Breakfast Platter which comes with 3 eggs, sweet fried plantains and a host of other breakfast sides. And if you’re craving bacon (obviously), then you must order the House Smoked Bacon Steak. If you’re not salivating just reading that, then you need to get your head checked.

The Brunch Buzz Drink

And finally, the best part of this brunch is unquestionably the make-your-own bloody mary bar (above). While you’re chowing down on cornbread and/or bacon, make yourself a bloody mary you can be proud of. The bar serves up options like worcestershire sauce, olives, celery and more – all waiting to be added to your spiced-up morning cocktail. This drink is sure to get your buzz on over a lazy Sunday brunch. Cheers!
