From L to R: Del Frisco’s General Manager, Anthony Valletta, and servers, Julie Jesspo and Alex Farris, unload a U-Haul truck filled with Turkeys during the Home for Little Wanderers annual Turkey Drive. This year more than 500 turkeys will be distributed to children and families who are served by The Home’s programs across Boston and Eastern Massachusetts this Thanksgiving.

Giving back and the holiday season go hand-in-hand. There’s truly no better time to help others and donate to the less fortunate in Boston than during the next month. If anything, the holidays only serve as a reminder to help those in need more often – and with multiple charities and fundraisers ramping up – it’s easier than ever. And it seems plenty of restaurants and chefs in the Boston area couldn’t agree more.

We’ve brought you news of Lovin’ Spoonfuls Boston-area fundraisers hosted by restaurateurs throughout the Hub, and news of how Chef Paul Turana is giving back to Boston Children’s Hospital. But now, we bring you even more news of good will coming out of Boston kitchens.

Yesterday, November 26th, staff members from the restaurant, Del Frisco’s, worked hard to deliver up to 60 turkeys to The Roslindale facility of The Home for Little Wanderers (picture above). The staff members also helped unload 100 turkeys – all to be delivered to children and families in need this Thanksgiving.

And this isn’t the first time that the steakhouse has helped charities. Del Frisco’s has supported charities like Camp Harborview and the American Heart Association in the past. But the restaurant isn’t finished giving back this holiday season. After delivering the turkeys, Del Frisco’s also plans to start collecting 100 toys for The Home for Little Wanderers and WCVB CH5’s annual Stuff-a-truck event taking place on December 5th.

For those unaware, The Home for Little Wanderers is a charity that supports programs and educational services to help children and young adults in order to strengthen families and communities.
