You’re brining the turkey. Pies are in the oven. And that stack of potatoes is ready to be mashed. But your outfit? It’s the one thing you’ve left up to chance this Thanksgiving. Lucky for you, Rue stylist Alexandra R. has some expert advice for what to wear on Turkey Day.

The almighty sweaterdress should be the go-to Thanksgiving outfit for a busy hostess. “Ditch the heels and wear your sweaterdress with comfortable smoking slippers or flat ankle boots,” Alexandra advises. If you’re looking to offset the inherent casual nature of a flat shoe? “Dress up the look with a big statement necklace.” Even with an apron on, you’ll still look chic.
