Just the other week, we shared with you some of Boston’s best bakeries. And while there are plenty of delicious pastry and baked bread shops around, many of them happen to be situated in the South End. Fortunately for you, these bakeries, along with the South End Business Alliance, are coming together to host the first Annual Cookie Festival.

Sure, you’ve heard of South End wine and chocolate tours – but a cookie tour? Not until now. It may sound too good to be true but the South End Cookie Festival (or cookie tour) will take place this Saturday, December 7th. Participating bakeries will be creating limited edition cookies to help you jumpstart your holiday season.

Just make sure you save room because we’re pretty sure these baked goods will not disappoint. The cookie tour includes: Ginger Molasses Cookie from Flour Bakery, Chewy Ginger Molasses Cookies from The Buttery, Cospresso Cookie from Above & Beyond Catering, The Bramble from Sugary Bakery, The Blueberry Pancookie from Rox Diner, and Chocolate Dipped Oatmeal with Pecans from 570 Market.

There will be three cookie festival tours at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m., so plan your Saturday accordingly. And to help you get even more into the holiday spirit, the last last tour of the day will stop at the tree lighting ceremony at 4 p.m. at the BCA (Boston Center for the Arts) Plaza.

But not all of your $20 spent will go towards the Boston bakeries – a portion of the proceeds will also be donated to the BCA. So feel free to unleash you inner cookie monster because at least it’s going towards a good cause. And that’s good enough for me.
