“A Day in the Life” is a series where we’ll profile a variety of residents to get an intimate glimpse into their day-to-day. These are your neighbors. Get to know them.

This week we decided to step outside of the Hub and into the Boston suburb of Burlington to speak with Erik Bush, managing partner of the newly opened Bonefish Grill restaurant. In case you haven’t heard of the award-winning restaurant, it opened  in Burlington this past November offering up wood-grilled fish, seafood and chops.

And I’m sure many of you have already experienced Burlington’s booming restaurant scene. Situated less than ten miles from Boston, the town has quickly become a hub of its own with top notch restaurants and bars.

But what is it like to work there? The busy husband and father Erik Bush filled us in on his day-to-day life in the suburbs – maintaining a work/life balance all while running a restaurant. Here’s a small glimpse into his suburban life.

How do you spend most mornings?

I spend most mornings having a coffee with my wife and getting my daughter ready for daycare.

What is your favorite thing on the menu at Bonefish Grill and why?

The ahi tuna sashimi. It’s the absolute highest quality and it is cooked to perfection every time without fail.  I have never had a better piece of fish in my life and I’m not just saying that because I work for Bonefish. It’s truly amazing.

What are the top priorities on your to-do list right now?

The top priorities on today’s “to-do” list include: Picking up out-of -state trainers at airport, coordinate and supervise the shelving to be finished; and add the finishing touches to the signage at the Burlington location.

What is the worst part and the best part about your typical day?

The worst part of my day is that I feel like it’s never long enough. The best part of my day is that I enjoy every single person that I work with.

If you could impart one piece of advice to our readers, what would it be?

Be good to one another.

What would you do if you were suddenly granted a day off from work tomorrow?

I would hop in the car and enjoy a nice relaxing drive up the coast to Maine.

What’s one TV show you can’t live without right now?

Modern Family and American Dad.

If you weren’t answering my questions, what would you be doing instead?

Believe it or not, booking holiday parties…. already. We book up quick! Make your reservation now!
