By now you’ve all heard the exciting news of the MBTA’s extended weekend hours: Last night, Governor Deval Patrick officially announced that the MBTA would begin running service until 3 a.m. on weekends in the spring of 2014. This, of course, is in response to Boston residents’ dissatisfaction with the city’s lack of late-night public transportation.

Like you, we were ecstatic upon hearing the news. After all, it seems every other big city in the universe has a cheap and safe way of getting home after 2 a.m. – except us. We’re thrilled to see the late-night MBTA service and excited to find out how it will transform our city for the better. So let’s look at a few awesome ways that the late-night MBTA service will make Boston an even better place to live, in anticipation of the spring 2014 start date.
