Not all of us have the time or energy (or a particular desire) to spend an entire Saturday afternoon cutting down our perfect Christmas tree. In fact, many of us would rather have someone else do the cutting for us so long as we still have a plethora of Evergreen options to choose from. Not to mention – that tree you chopped yourself may still have a few unwelcome guests (i.e. squirrels) – Christmas Vacation, anyone?
But before you set out on a holiday mission to pick the best pre-cut tree, (or head straight to the forest to chop down your own), it’s probably best to have a plan.
First, make sure your pre-cut Christmas tree is fresh. If the needles snap and break then chances are good that the tree is probably on its last leg. A fresh pre-cut Christmas tree, one that is still alive – and will be through the holiday season – is not impossible to find. The tree should be a healthy green with needles that are soft and flexible. This will only help ensure those heavy ornaments hang safely on your tree – and of course, that there’s no fire hazard.
Just be prepared to be picky in the process. After all, that pre-cut Christmas tree will sit perched in your home all holiday season long. And the last thing you want is a house fire (or an ugly tree). To ensure that your Christmas tree picking goes smoothly, we’ve provided you with a few places in and around Boston that sell pre-cut Christmas trees.
