Survivors of the tragic Boston Marathon bombing back in April are now five days into their 10 day, all-expenses paid, all-inclusive cruise along the South of France. The much deserved vacation, courtesy of Boston-based Vantage Deluxe World Travel and the One Fund, is now cruising along to the sound of wedding bells.

Among the passengers are nurse Krista D’Agostino and bombing victim James Costello. The duo met at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital when the former mended the latter back to health after he was caught in the line of fire when two pressure cooker bombs teeming with metallic shrapnel exploded near Boylston Street in Boston’s Back Bay. As per the Huffington Post, Costello suffered from multiple burns and had to have two nails removed from his abdomen.

But something good apparently came from the act of domestic terrorism. According to the New York Post, “The pair hit it off, and soon were inseparable.”

If this isn’t a classic A Farewell to Arms-type romance sans the devastating ending (read it), I don’t know what is.

The Post continues to mention that Costello wrote of his elation on Facebook, noting how some things happen for a reason and there was one behind his being injured on that fateful April 15 afternoon. He wrote,

A couple weeks later I was transferred to Spaulding Hospital. A few days later I saw a nurse in passing, this would turn out to be Krista. After sharing a handful of conversations I realized not only how beautiful she was but also what a kind heart she had.

I now realized why I was involved in the tragedy, it was to meet my best friend, and the love of my life. Eights months later I’m happy to announce that we will spend the rest of our lives together… We got engaged last night in the middle of the beautiful French city Lyon!!!

We extend our sincerest congratulations to the happy couple and wish them all the best together.
