This weekend Mayor-elect Marty Walsh announced in further detail his inauguration ceremony plans. The Walsh camp had previously conveyed plans for a number of events leading up the inaugural, and has now laid the plans for a swanky after party at the Hynes Convention Center at 7:00 p.m.

According to Walsh’s press secretary, tickets to the inaugural gala are available via TicketMaster right here for a reasonable $35. But in hopes of promoting community service, especially during the holiday season, the Mayor-elect has called upon his supporters to “donate a canned good, and/or make a modest contribution to the ABCD Energy and Fuel Services program.”

ABCD provides vital assistance to Boston residents in need of basic services including heating, food, warm winter clothing, and holiday toys every year, touching the lives of thousands.

As for entertainment at the gala, slated to perform area the likes of The Boston Pops Swing Orchestra, with conductor Keith Lockhart; Dropkick Murphys; Blue Man Group; Ellis Hall; The Floor Lords; Zumix; Calypso Hurricane; Strictly Sinatra; Mark Morris and the Cat Tunes; Steve Sweeney; Lenny Clarke; and DJ Master Millions.

Walsh’s campaign notes further that they’re hoping to include even more performers, though those will be announced in the coming weeks.

Mayor-elect Walsh’s swearing in ceremony will take place on the campus of his alma mater, Boston College, on January 6 at 10:00 a.m.. In the days preceding the swearing in, Walsh will host a number of neighborly initiatives in which he, his transition team, and inauguration committee co-chairs will engage in community service projects, talk with elementary school students, and share brunch with seniors at Northeastern University’s Cabot Athletic Center.
