With Winter Storm Hercules smacking the Boston area in full force last night, it’s only a matter of time before cabin fever ensues. It may be only 5 degrees out, but sooner or later you’re going to need to get out of the house – even if your face almost freezes off.

Fortunately, many Boston bars and restaurants plan to reopen today and tonight – just in time for the weekend. And while there will (surprisingly) be a good number of places to open – we recommend heading to a bar in Back Bay that offers a very special, very appropriate cocktail.

In honor of Boston’s first snowstorm of the year, Bar 10 is serving up a creative twist on the martini: the Abominable Snowman. The bar tweeted out the special drink yesterday, which features Stoli Vanilla, White Godiva (oh my..), and Peppermint Schnapps – are you drooling yet?

And the best part – you can sip on the snow-inspired libation until long after Midnight tonight. Bar 10 stays opens late on both Friday and Saturday night. The bar also serves up American fare, entrees and an amazing cheese and charcuterie board  – so long canned foods.

With Hercules-style martinis and cheese boards galore, Bar 10 surely has everything good happening after Midnight.
