Grocery delivery service Instacart has announced the addition of Whole Foods to its list of stores and expanded coverage to 10 additional Boston area zip codes.

Starting today, Instacart customers can purchase groceries from both Shaw’s and Whole Foods, with the option of combining goods from both stores for the same order.

Last month, San Francisco-based Instacart began serving Boston neighborhoods, including Back Bay, Beacon Hill, and the Seaport. Those services have now expanded into North Dorchester, Roxbury, lower Allston, Jamaica Plain, Mission Hill, Brookline, and Davis Square.

According to a press release, founder and CEO Apoorva Mehta said the company has experienced “swift growth” in Boston since its original launch, with sales expanding by 30 percent weekly.

Following request from customers, and a in-house survey that found 73 percent of people were craving Whole Foods, Instacart decided to to add the health foods store to coverage. According to Mehta, Whole Foods delivery has been the top customer request.

“We’ve had great success delivering from Whole Foods Market in Chicago and San Francisco, and know it will be a great addition to our Boston service,” Mehta said in a statement.

Instacart has opened an office at 585 Mass Ave in Cambridge and has two full-time Boston employees and “dozens” of contracted shoppers.
