So, you didn’t love the first episode of Downton Abbey this past Sunday? Well, in my Downton-viewing opinion it’s pretty hard to outdo the first (and utterly amazing) season of the British television phenomenon. But, there’s a way to bring back the Downton magic this month in Boston – without gloomy Mary.

By joining an actual “Downton Style Dinner Party” happening right here in the Hub. This month, the BCAE (Boston Center for Adult Education) is hosting a special theme dinner in honor of the award winning TV show.

On Thursday, January 30 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., guests of the class will learn how to throw their very own Downton-Style Dinner Party. Chef Dustin Rennells of the BCAE will teach guests how to make a multi-course meal that “would impress even the most noble of the show’s characters,” as noted in a release.

They will also learn how to create an inspired and authentic Downton ambiance – complete with tablescapes and centerpieces. And as you probably know, at Downton Abbey an elegant and sophisticated ambiance is key.

So this year – start 2014 off right – in the shoes of Downton Lords and Ladies.

To register and receive more information about the event, check out BCAE’s website or call 617-267-4430.
