Let’s face it – the one good thing about a cold Boston winter is a warm ski lodge and nearby slopes – all within close proximity to us. But if you find yourself thinking – I have no time to plan a ski trip – you’re in luck (and not alone). With our busy lives, most of us don’t have the time to deal with travel details, but fortunately there’s a weekend getaway that’s already been planned for you. Phew.

The BCAE (Boston Center for Adult Education) has organized an all-inclusive ski getaway and mini-vacation to help make the winter just a tad less miserable. The organization is teaming up with Wachusett Mountain from Saturday, February 8 to Sunday, February 9 to offer both expert skiers and beginners an all-day pass on the slopes.

Or, if you’re a terrible skier (like me), you can partake in exclusive skiing lessons taught by one of their professional staff so that you don’t do this (below).

All you have to do is sign up with the BCAE and your plans are completely taken care of. The cost is $175 per person, and the package includes transportation, exclusive overnight lodging near the mountain, choice between discounted ski lessons or an all day ski pass, and a private suite for resting between your runs on the ski slopes.

For those not familiar with Wachusett Mountain, the Princeton, MA resort is located only about an hour’s drive from Boston and the average lift price for a full day on weekends is $60. The ski area includes 22 trails, 8 lifts, and a 2006 foot summit.

I recommend booking early before this all-inclusive ski getaway fills up.
