Girl Scout cookie season is upon us, and part of what makes these simple yet seductive cookies so alluring is their elusive nature. Since I retired my own Girl Scout sash and put my days of peddling sugar to the neighborhood septuagenarians behind me, those colorful cookie boxes seem to just appear out of nowhere once a year, rendering the beholder the most popular person in the office kitchen or college dorm.
Unless you know someone who knows someone with a little girl in the cookie dealing business, or have parents in the suburbs who still love you, or happen to come across a glorious booth, peak cookie time might just come and go, passing you up in the process. We don’t want that to happen to you.
