It may sound too good to be true – but for one British couple, Domino’s pizza took the cake (wedding cake, that is) during their ceremony this past weekend. The Huffington Post reported that food artist, Nathan Wyburn and Domino’s collaborated to create two pizza portraits for the couple’s wedding day.

Oh yes, that happened.

And to prove it, here is the picture (below) of the newlyweds holding their two 13-inch pizza selfies, according to Mirror Online.

These pizzas took only 3 hours for the food artist to create. Mirror Online noted that the couple’s faces were “created from toppings, including tomato, ham and sweetcorn.” And although they only took three hours to put together, guests managed to eat them both in the course of one wedding reception.

The groom reportedly told the Manchester Evening News, “We order Domino’s pizza all the time, so it felt right to incorporate them into the most special day of our lives.”

I can’t say that I think the pizza faces are exactly flattering – but that’s not the point. Who wouldn’t want to have their face planted on their favorite food on the best day of their lives? I mean, really!

But apparently this isn’t the first rodeo for food artist, Nathan Wyburn. According to the Huffington Post, he “specializes in creating celebrity portraits and pop culture imagery with untraditional mediums like food.”

Well have to see what food creations he comes up with next. As for me, I’d appreciate a macaroni and cheese selfie – please.
