Sometimes it’s nice waking up on a Saturday morning with absolutely, positively nothing to do. And sometimes, you wish that you had something – anything – to do. Either way – the fact that there is a chocolate festival happening in your own backyard this weekend, means there’s no room for boredom – just dessert.

Today, January 25, the Harvard Square Chocolate Festival returns once again and brings with it numerous chocolate-inspired appetizers, salads, entrees, cocktails and desserts – oh my!

Truly a chocoholic’s heaven, there will be sweet chocolate promotions and discounts all weekend long. From 1p.m. to 2p.m. today, you can participate in a Chocolate Sampling event, which will provide samples from various restaurants and shops including: Ben & Jerrys, J.P Licks, Hidden Sweets and more.

Harvard Square restaurants are also serving up their own chocolate-inspired dishes and drinks. Try one of Beat Hotel’s braised short ribs with chocolate and chocolate cocktails or The Red House’s special “chocolate menu” complete with 3 courses of chocolate options.

And if you happen to be looking for chocolate colored furniture, you can stop by BoConcept for their 20% discount on a Dark Brown (chocolate) Andorra Leather sofa – because why not?

And finally, I recommend making a stop at Harvard Square’s Shake Shack (my fave) for a much-needed (and FREE!) Dark Hot Chocolate drink. Your weekend doesn’t get much sweeter than this, folks.
