Last week, six finalists presented their public art proposals for the Dudley Square Municipal Building in Roxbury. The presentations were open to the public, and attendees were given the opportunity to submit their own comments to assist the selection committee.

Six artists made the final cut  last week, giving individual 20-minute presentations to the committee and the public. Only two artists will be chosen to install their designs – either a wall design project or an outdoor sculpture.

The short list for the wall design project includes: Best Dressed Signs, Cyrille Conan, and Napoleon Jones-Henderson

And an outdoor sculpture will be installed by one of following: Christopher Puzio, Madeline Wiener, or Meejin Yoon.

The Dudley Square Municipal Building project includes the refurbishment of the Ferdinand Building, which is part of an entire revitalization project for the neighborhood. In the next few weeks, winning artists are expected to be chosen to install their work. To get a feel of what Dudley Square could look like, have a scroll through the slide show.
