Tuesday night President Barack Obama will deliver the 2014 State of the Union address at 9:00 p.m. ET, the second of his current term as commander-in-chief of the United States. For those of you cramming late in the library, burning the midnight oil at the office or  stuffing your DVR chock full of Real Housewife variations, fret not. We have a live stream of the 2014 State of the Union address just for you below.

The president’s speech is poised under a national microscope for various significant reasons – not just because it’s the President of the United States addressing those whom he serves. It has a direct impact on party politics, President Obama’s approval rating, and is a show of support for those injured during the tragic Boston Marathon bombings.

As noted by CNN, the State of the Union will be a stopgap attempt by the president to quell his rival Republican party from gaining majority control of the Senate, of which the Democrats now possess by just six Senators. He must also keep an eye on his approval rating, surely hoping to gain favor amongst the scrutinizing populous, as his approval rating sits at 43 percent in favor.

Gallup notes that the president’s current approval rating hovers just above his all-time low of 38 percent in favor which dates back to October 2011.

Also in attendance will be those caught in the crossfire of the unfathomable Boston Marathon bombings. Carlos Arredondo and Jeff Bauman will be guests of honor – Arredondo, the cowboy hat-wearing marathon spectator who quickly sprang to the aid of Bauman, also a spectator though subjected to double amputation due to the severity of his injuries.

The duo are depicted in what’s perhaps become the photograph most synonymous with the dual explosions that rocked Boston last April. As a volunteer at the annual race, Arredondo came to the aid Bauman without hesitation. Bauman subsequently aided the authorities in identifying, who later captured, the primary suspects thought to have allegedly schemed the catastrophe.

In that same respect, Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey will be joined by Watertown Police Chief Edward P. Deveau as his guest. Chief Deveau greatly aided the effort put forth by the Cambridge and Boston Police and Fire Departments, the FBI and Massachusetts State Police in honing in on the those allegedly thought to have hatched the bombing plot.

Said Senator Markey in a statement,

Chief Deveau and all of the brave officers of the Watertown Police Department, as well as all the other courageous responders to the bombings, are heroes who embody the strength and resilience that united the people of Boston and Massachusetts after the bombs went off on Boylston Street. Chief Deveau and his men courageously defended the streets of Watertown after the attacks and in doing so defended our nation. I am so proud to have Chief Deveau here with me to honor him and the bravery of his officers and all of those heroes who selflessly defended and protected us during and after the attacks.
