Massachusetts accumulated about 2-inches of snow on Monday, a prelude to the eight- to 12-inches of snow expected to barrage the Bay State on Wednesday. And while Boston is more accustomed to multiple lengths of snow on end than most other metropolitan areas places, the National Weather Service isn’t taking any chances. They’ve issued an anticipatory Winter Storm Watch for midnight Tuesday through Wednesday afternoon.

The NWS is calling for as much as ten inches of snow on Wednesday and though they’ve suggested you keep an eye out on travel conditions “especially during the Wednesday morning commute,” it appears we won’t be subjected to the whiplashing winds of Mother Nature. Wind speeds brought on by Winter Storms Janus and Hercules were clocked as high as 50 miles per hour while this storm is expected to carry gusts up to 25 mph.

Though Boston Mayor Marty Walsh has yet to enact a snow emergency or parking ban, there’s a chance he will. In those instances, cars are advised to avoid idling in certain parking areas for the likelihood of hindering snow plows. Be sure to tune into BostInno for the latest updates regarding snow emergencies and parking bans as we’ll be sure to update you as information continues to roll in as well as help guide you to parking spots in order to keep you from receiving a neon orange ticket or worse, getting towed.
