If you have to choose one way to celebrate the Sochi Olympics, let it be at an ice bar. No, we’re not suggesting you head to Faneuil Hall’s Frost Ice Bar to join the tourists, but instead to a “cooler” Olympic inspired party (sans hooded coats).

Society on High in Boston’s Financial District is hosting a special Olympic themed party this Friday to kick off the Sochi games. Appropriately named “Sochi at So-Hi,” the bar’s outdoor patio will be complete with Olympic inspired ice sculptures. This includes the first-of-its-kind ice sculpted air hockey table – you’re welcome.

As you may be aware, the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony takes place this Friday, February 7. Besides ice sculptures, the event will also include specialty cocktails with Drambuie, outdoor interactive ice photo opportunities, a Meet and Greet with USA Olympic medalist and Northeastern alum Dan Walsh, as well as a full food menu.

The exciting opening ceremony will be showed in the U.S. at 7:30 p.m. this Friday on NBC but will not be streamed live online. Besides the horrible Olympics uniforms, you can also expect to see the arrival of the Olympic flame as well as a handful of musical performers. Although, event organizers have been tight-lipped about the planned processions,” according to the International Business Times.

We’ll just have to wait and see what the opening ceremony has in-store for us. But we’re excited to do it in true Sochi fashion – surrounded by ice.
