If all of this snow is making you hungry and (very) thirsty, we don’t blame you. After all, being cooped up inside all day, sure doesn’t help. And with cabin fever slowly (but surely) creeping in, it’s time to get out of the house – like tonight.
To keep you from going totally stir crazy, we’ve rounded up a few snow day deals happening in the Hub. From homemade grilled cheeses to specialty drinks, there’s no shortage of deals going on in your neighborhood. Happy snow day snacking everyone!
Bistro du Midi
Open regular hours today, Bistro du Midi is offering a few specials tonight including: parmesan gnocchi, black trumpets, preserved lemon, and fresh winter black truffles.
Cask ‘n Flagon
This Fenway bar is offering complimentary hot chocolate, tea and coffee for all city workers who are tasked with clearing the Boston streets and sidewalks during the storm.
Estelle’s
If you’re craving some southern food, come to Estelle’s where they’re serving up a Sloppy Po’ Boy all day through the storm (11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m.).
Figaro’s
Figaro’s is open and serving up a “shitty day special” featuring free smoked gouda mac & cheese or small soup with purchase of sandwich.
Heirloom Kitchen
Heirloom Kitchen will be open during regular hours. The restaurant is serving up snow day special. Ordering a double entree will get you a free appetizer when you mention the word “snowstorm special” at checkout.
The Living Room
The North End’s Living Room will be open regular hours and offering a warm French onion soup with smoked cheddar and boursin grilled cheese as an additional menu item in light of the snow storm.
Local 149
Open regular hours with bar bites and burgers available from 11 p.m. to midnight tonight, the restaurant will also be serving its Wednesday night special, a snow day-worthy porchetta roast.
Prezza
Prezza in the North End is serving up a “Snow Emergency” offer at the bar tonight where you can get a complimentary Gnocchi Bolognese appetizer with an order of Chianti.
Strega Waterfront
The Waterfront restaurant began serving $5 bar bites at 4 p.m. today including Sicilian Chicken Wings (Chef Sal’s homemade marinade with dipping sauce), Arancini Fritters (risotto, peas, house made sauce) and Bruschetta (fresh diced tomatoes, chibatta, shaved parmesan).
Ward 8
Ward 8 will be opening at 5 p.m. and serving up the “Tom and Gisele,” cocktail special at the bar. According to Eater Boston, the drink is the “bar manager’s interpretation of the classic Tom & Jerry, using homemade fluff instead of whipped egg whites.” Sounds amazing.
Westin Waltham Boston
Open regular hours, the chef will be serving up a stay-at-home grilled cheese and tomato soup special for guests “looking to recreate the snow days of childhood pasts.”
